Watt-hours (Wh) define autonomy

Weekend camping: 500-1000 Wh. Emergency backup: 1500-3000 Wh. RV or off-grid: 2000-5000+ Wh for multi-day autonomy.

Continuous output wattage (W)

300W covers small electronics. 1000-2000W runs a kettle, microwave, or coffee maker. 3000W+ for power tools or air conditioning.

Battery chemistry matters

LiFePO4 batteries handle 3,000+ charge cycles — the 2026 standard. Older NMC lithium drops to 500 cycles.

Solar panel sizing
